Grandparents Visit in June

It seems like in the last year or two each time we see our parents we forget to take pictures. This summer we were blessed with visits from both Garrett's parents & my Dad, so I made sure we got a few shots this time! My Dad visited the first part of June & then Judy & Earl were with us on Father's Day. Garrett & I were not fixed up for pictures, but at least we got a picture taken! The kids adore their grandparents and wish we all lived a little closer. We look forward to a visit from my Mom (Nana) in October!!

Fun games with Papa Joe.

Wedding Anniversary 2009

On May 30th we celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary. Garrett took me shopping & to Scottsdale for dinner to Fogo de Chao, a Brazilian steak house. Though I was hesitant to try it, I'm so glad we went because it was a very richly tasting, cultural experience! The food was of the highest quality & the service was unique. Instead of receiving a menu & then ordering your food there are waiters walking around constantly with all these different kinds of meats stacked on sabers. And you have this coaster card on your table, one side green the other side red, and when you want to try something you flip the green side up and the waiter will slice some off for you. And when you want to rest & eat you flip the card to the red side. Then there is this to die for salad bar and the best steak & the most amazing cheesecake I've ever had in my life. After dinner we went & got our pictures taken together (which we haven't done since we were engaged). It was a wonderful anniversary!

Austin's 2nd Birthday May 3, 2009

Yesterday, May 3rd, we celebrated Austin's 2nd birthday. I can't believe our baby boy is already 2 years old! Time goes by SO fast! :<

"Okay Mommy I guess I still need your help opening presents."

"Hmmm, I wonder what's in here?"

"Here let me help you with that Austin! I'm sure Mommy & Daddy won't mind me jumping up on the table, right?"

"I can be the knight and you can be the princess Austin!"

"Yay Mommy, the cake! We've been waiting all day!"

"Um, nope...not gonna do it people! My Mommy, Daddy & Smokey The Bear told me to stay away from fire!"

"I can't take it anymore...cut the cake already!"

"Oh yeah...this is what it's all about!" :>

Easter 2009

This Easter Garrett's parents & adopted sister Theresa were here visiting from NM & MD. Unfortunately it seems each time we get together we forget to take pictures & so we don't have any pictures of the kids w/ their Gpa & Gma Hassell or Aunt Theresa:( Regardless of photographic evidence, we had a really fun visit & it was so nice to have family with us during the holiday!

Payson was WAY too excited to hunt for eggs Easter morning to get her hair done & nice church shoes on. Oh well, she's beautiful not matter what she has on!!!

Easter Pageant 2009

This year we were able to attend the Easter Pageant at the LDS Temple in Mesa, AZ. It is a moving story of the life and teachings of our Savior Jesus Christ through music, dance & drama. It is a beautiful experience and we hope to make it a tradition each year!
